August has three kids, two sons who were Eagle Scouts with Troop 6 and a daughter who did not have Scouting as a possibility. August enjoys competing in triathlons, but relishes the opportunity to get up in the mountains away from cell phones and connect with nature.
ASHER BERGTRAUN, ASSISTANT SCOUTMASTER
Asher comes from a family of Eagle Scouts, earned the rank with Berkeley Troop 6 and is now excited to guide the new Scouts of Berkeley Troop 777 to achieve the same.
Scouting introduced him to his love of cooking on an open fire, building structures with knots and lashings, and kayaking/canoeing.
Outside of Scouting, you can find him volunteering at the Friends of Alameda Animal Shelter, loudly cheering for the Warriors/Valkyries, or tinkering with broken electronics.

Michelle has been deeply involved in Scouting for more than 2 decades.
Her husband, father-in-law and two sons are all Eagle Scouts so she has been steeped in Scouting, volunteering at every level during her sons' tenure in Troop 6. She’s now very happy to be able to assist in establishing a girl’s troop at last, and looks forward to sharing many great adventures with the girls along their Scouting trail!
