Scouts need to buy a shirt and dark green shoulder loops. You can purchase them online at the Scout Shop, or visit a local scout shop, such as the  Scout Shop at Pleasant Hill (508 Contra Costa Blvd K2, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523)

For meetings, day outings, and short hikes:

• Scout uniform (Class A for meetings, Class B for activities)

• Water bottle

• Small notebook and pen/pencil

• Headlamp or flashlight

• Pocket-sized first aid kit

• Rain jacket or poncho

• Sturdy shoes or hiking boots

• Backpack (daypack size)

• Pocket knife

• Kleenex

• Insect Repellent

• Sunscreen

• ChapStick/Lip Balm

• Snack

Required

Everything in the basic personal gear list, plus:

• Sleeping bag (appropriate for the season)

• Sleeping pad

• Mess kit (plate, bowl, utensils)

• Refillable water bottle (1–2 quarts)

• Toiletries and towel

• Extra socks and clothing layers

• Toilet kit (could include)
